Guy Stevens's campaign to bring a lasting tribute to rapper Easy E to Newhaven has been gaining financial support through a GoFundMe page.
At time of writing it has reached £1,447 of the £2,500 target. On the page it reads: We are trying to raise funds for an Eazy E bench in Newhaven as a tribute towards this great man. Newhaven town council have said a bench will be allowed. I have sent off for quotes from a few companies in order to get it set up. Any money left over will be donated to an AIDS charity in Brighton of my choosing as Eazy E sadly passed away from this terrible disease in 1995. The campaign so far has received national and international coverage in the media and I believe it will also be a boost for the local community economically as well as bringing in some tourism.
