Objections concerning air pollution were discarded by Brighton & Hove Council and the prospect of high costs of fighting the proposals has left residents in Ovingdean worried that the planned development of 45 homes in their village could lead to the prospect of more homes than originally planned being built near-by. The Lightwood Group's original proposal for development was for the construction of over a 100 houses on land currently being used as a paddock just south of Ovingdean Road on the Falmer Road near the borders of Rottingdean, Woodingdean & Ovingdean. Another 250 homes were also in the first phase of planning earmarked for different sites along from Woodingdean through to Rottingdean including part of Longhill School's playing fields. Below is a map of the area where the development is planned. More on this story here > brightonandhovenews.org __________________________________________________________________________________
