It is often said by aficionados that the best place to see a movie is on the big screen. The team at Cinema Saltdean believe this to be so. Great films, great company and a new season coming up - just up your street.
Cinema Saltdean is an entirely volunteer led organisation and is non-profit making. They bring film to audiences who prefer not to have the multiplex experience but nevertheless enjoy film on the big screen: they now have an improved sound system. Cinema Saltdean has been established for almost nine years.
They provide a social setting where you can buy a glass of wine or a cup of tea or coffee. They have held audience feedback evenings and staged Director evenings, with film discussion prior to screening, and a Q&A session at the end of the evening. They have also shown films that have received limited releases. Their audiences tell them that they enjoy the social aspects of the evenings and say that they have seen more films as a result of the local cinema than they would have otherwise. They also tell them that Cinema Saltdean has provided them with the chance to see a wider range of films than they would have otherwise gone out to see. They screen on the 4th Tuesday of each month except August. In December (2nd Tuesday) they hold a charity performance, from which EVERY penny goes to charity. Cinema Saltdean is generously supported by The Deans Magazine. They are eager to find more volunteers for a variety of tasks at the cinema please contact them via their website: www.cinemasaltdean.org
