“Turn again, Whittington, Thou worthy citizen, Turn again, Whittington, Lord Mayor of London.” Dick Whittington travels from Gloucester with his cat Thomas, to find his fortune in London. He meets Alice Fitzwarren who persuades her mother to give Dick a job in his shop. The rats of London don’t like cats. They steal money from Mrs Fitzwarren and make sure Dick is blamed and dismissed in disgrace.
