Rottingdean

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses after a ladder came off a lorry and smashed the front windscreen of a car in Rottingdean.

The woman driver, in her 70s, was travelling along the A259 in Rottingdean
at 4.45pm on Thursday, November 23, when the collision occurred.

The car, a silver Ford Focus, was subsequently written off.

A Police Constable said: “The elderly driver of the car was visibly shaken by this incident and as a result is suffering from shock. “It is believed the ladder was not securely fastened to the top of the lorry and it has slipped off in transit. “We are pleading to anyone who may have dash cam footage or witnessed this incident to get in contact with us immediately."
