There will be no Rottingdean Smugglers Night this year it has been announced.
A Facebook message from the Rottingdean Smugglers page read:
Winter Smugglers 2018 – not this year Rottingdean Smugglers will not be able to put on the Winter Smugglers event this year (2018) usually held on the first Saturday in December. Sadly, we are not able to attract funding on a scale necessary to put on the event as many of you would expect from the Smugglers Team. We have also been affected by people not being able to spend the time necessary to put on the event. We very much hope that we will be back next year – we will be looking for new team members and funding later this year for planning 2019. If readers of this note would like to be part of Smugglers please email me at chrisjwhite1949@yahoo.com and let me know how you would like to be involved. Although Smugglers will not take place in December I am pleased to tell you that there will be a Christmas Market hosted by “Visit Rottingdean” on Saturday December 1st between 3pm and 7pm at The Rottingdean Village Hall. Local Traders are also being encouraged to stay open late that evening. There is also a chance local Schools will be running their Christmas Fairs on this day. All in all Rottingdean should be a very busy place on Saturday December 1st – make a note in your Diary. Chris White Chair |
