A rare whale has been washed up on the beach at Saltdean.
Newhaven Coastguard were tasked to investigate reports of a stranded whale on the seafront at Saltdean.

When the team arrived they found the the rare Sowerby's Beaked to be already deceased.

Over 4 meters long the animal has been prepared to be removed, the coastguard officers were urging people not to get too close to whale as they are unsure of cause of death, also because of rapid decomposition there was the likelihood of a foul smell sticking to clothing.
