Anyone recently taking a stroll along New Road in Brighton may have noticed something out of plaice!
Trish the Fish is a sculpture made entirely from environmentally unfriendly rubbish that has been washed up on our local beaches. She is part of Brighton & Hove Council's Streets Ahead Campaign which is trying to get us all to recycle more.
But Green councilor and former Brighton mayor Pete West is encouraging us to take an even more pro-active approach by joining Brighton and Hove's Tidy Up Team. The team will provide you with the equipment needed for you to get out in your local area and make a difference by picking up the litter when you are out and about.
Pete is also advocating that people look into purchasing reusable bamboo coffee cups to save on the estimated 2.5 billion single use cups that are apparently thrown away every year in the UK according to the World Economic Forum .
