Enter an alternative universe First find the archway by Saltdean Lido - this is the entrance to the tunnel which runs down through the chalk cliffs to the Undercliff Walk: an alternative universe of calm, away from the hustle and bustle and traffic fumes of the City. Stretching towards Rottingdean and Ovingdean and on to the Marina, the Undercliff walk is one of Brighton’ s best kept secrets. Be prepared Take food supplies, or money for an ice cream or drink at one of the cafes; a bucket, binoculars if you have them, sun cream - it can get very hot in the summer as the sun reflects off the white cliffs. In cooler weather take warm clothes to cover up and protect you from the sea breezes. Or dress as a smuggler. Welly boots or a spare pair of shoes and socks could be useful too.
What other things did you see on your walk? What did you like best? Let us know in the comments section below. or send us your photos, drawings and videos If you get tired out and don't feel like walking back, catch a bus from the top of the cliffs. There is a regular and frequent bus service along the main coast road. *Dog friendly, wheelchair friendly, disabled friendly - access by slopes (as well as by steps) at Saltdean, Rottingdean and at the Marina. *Public toilets are available along the route. Can you spot a fish in this picture? OK now for a really hard one!... Can you spot a shrimp in this picture?
