As residents of Telscombe Cliffs and East Saltdean we are conducting a 'People’s Survey' to discover if our local community wants a Public Spaces Protection Order imposed on Telscombe Tye by Telscombe Town Council.
Lewes District Council are running a public consultation but there is not an option to say 'No' to the PSPO, people are only being asked how they want the PSPO to be implemented.

The reasons for the legislation, alleged high numbers of sheep being killed by dogs, is based on allegations made by Farmer Tim Armour who is also a Telscombe Town Councillor. These allegations have not been proved by the farmer and no evidence of has been provided to the public as part of the consultation.

If implemented the PSPO will criminalise dog walkers 365 days of the year on Telscombe Tye for having their dog off lead, even if there are no sheep on the Tye.

Please have your say to stop residents losing their rights to use the Tye as we have always done, exercising our dogs and enjoying one of our most treasured public spaces.

TAKE PARY IN THE PSPO PEOPLES SURVEY

QUestions to CONSIDER WHEN VOTING

Residents are being told that the legislation is justified because our quality of life is being detrimentally affected by the unproven dog attacks on sheep. PSPO's are used to control antisocial behaviour.

1. Are dogs being walked off the lead on the Tye causing a detrimental effect on your life?

2. Are you aware that there is already legislation in place to protect the sheep? The Dogs (Protection of Livestock)Act 1953.

3. Do you want to see evidence to prove the claims being made by the farmer included in the public consultation?

4. Are you concerned about the way in which the sheep are looked after on the Tye?

5. Do you think your taxes should be targeted at anti social behaviour that can be proved? .

6. Do you think it’s a good idea for all of the dogs currently walked on the Tye to be walked off lead in Chatsworth Park, the cliff top and the undercliff?
